Update

Well, I got a call tonight wherein I was reminded how lax I have become about blogging lately and apparently a few relatives and friends are curious about what is going on with Dad and our life in general. Pursuant to that, here is an update which I will quickly follow up with something more interesting in a effort to bury a post that runs the risk of being too boring or perhaps even too revealing.

Dad has been doing better since they changed his medicine. The new medicine does not make him feel as bad as the old did. It even seems to be having a better impact on his need for transfusions. He can now go about ten to twelve days before needing a transfusion of two units. Before he had gotten to the point where he needed two units every 7 or 8 days. One bad development, however, is that he has been fighting the flu for a while. This can be a little dangerous in his condition, but he seems to be getting a little better. For all who have asked, thanks.

The kids are doing great. We have one more basketball game for Connor tomorrow and then baseball season will follow shortly thereafter. We all usually enjoy baseball season. We're a little anxious about how the draft might go this year- okay, a LOT anxious- but hopeful that things will work out okay. The girls are taking tennis lessons now and seem to be enjoying it. Neither of them are very competitive but I hope they discover an interest in this sport since it is something they could potentially enjoy playing for many years.

So, those are some of the major points of recent weeks. Other, less-interesting include, but are not limited to:

Suicidal Terminator cow
Dyess AFB newcomer
No babysitters
Skunks, badgers and coyotes, Oh My!
Report cards
Movie night
Relegated to the couch
And so on...
